1/12/2007 - Francia" Los Pumas deben jugar el Seis Naciones"

Así lo confirmó ayer el ex jugador de la Selección de Francia Thomas Castaignede. Aseguró también que no le servirá a Argentina que juege el Tres Naciones.

"La plataforma ideal para que la selección argentina de rugby muestre su talento es en el Seis Naciones y no el Tri-Nations del Hemisferio Sur", comenzó la nota ayer el ex crack francés Thomas Castaignede.

Castaignede consideró "un enorme error, destinado al fracaso" la decisión de la International Rugby Board (IRB) haber incluído a los "Pumas" en futuras ediciones del Tri Nations, donde juegan Sudáfrica, Nueva Zelandia y Australia.

El ex crack de la selección francesa expresó que "los "Pumas" que brillan en los campeonatos europeos difícilmente podrán jugar en el Tri Nations, lo que restará enorme poderío a Argentina".

"Lo mejor será dejar que los argentinos se unan al Seis Naciones y jueguen de local en España, en Madrid o Barcelona, lo que dejaría espacio también para test match en junio ante Nueva Zelandia, Sudáfrica y Australia", dijo el ex jugador que vistió 54 veces la camiseta de Francia.

Thomas pidió una rápida solución al afirmar que "mientras Sudáfrica ganó el último Mundial, la real revelación del torneo fue el equipo argentino, que concluyó en tercer lugar, luego de vencer dos veces al anfitrión, Francia".

Castaignede afirmó que "el increíble Agustín Pichot no sólo fue el capitán, sino el alma del equipo y que podría ser presidente de la Unión Argentina para decidir el futuro rugbístico de su país".

Los jugadores argentinos, dijo Castaignede, son de "gran calidad, aprenden rápido, reviven a sus equipos y están siempre sonriendo. Tienen una inspirada fuerza creativa, carisma, habilidad colectiva y esa mezcla de clase y agresividad que se precisa en el rugby".

"Por estas razones, este será un momento clave para los "Pumas". Ellos probaron al mundo en una competición de primer nivel que el rugby no puede estar sin Argentina...Su única debilidad -completó- es dónde están ubicados, en un limbo. El problema es dónde ubicarlos".
