¿Mundialito? - Mini World Cup?

The possibility of a tournament with the world's 10 best-selected the three who play the Three Nations and the six 6 Nations, plus Argentina, on the sidelines of the World, which circulated version with force during France 2007, has re-installed in the field of rugby. There are powerful reasons to be confident that this is true: 1) The crisis in the southern hemisphere, which obliges the Popes of Sanza to seek new horizons, 2) The downsizing of the international calendar after 2011, which was announced by the president IRB, Bernard Lapasset, on his last visit to the country, 3) The almost hegemonic control that the clubs will in the short term and will check to the international windows.
It has already been written on this blog item on several occasions, and now the site planetrugby spread the efforts that are taking place. This sort of Super 10 teams could have a final at Wembley perhaps before the World 2011 in New Zealand, as it became known. This will take as a trial balloon to test the historic on Wednesday, December 3 hold in the renovated Cathedral of Football Wallabies and the Barbarians, as part of the celebrations of the centenary of obtaining the Olympic gold medal in Australasia (well it was called then) in the final to Great Britain in the Games that were played precisely in London.
The departure of super-star Dan Carter was introduced yesterday in Perpignan and clarified that it is not Maradona-ended to reflect how it is raised today the map of power rugby: a powerful Norte cash payment takes the figures of the South and Sanzar powers with the Super-14 Three Nations-it or do they need to seek new venues.
The idea, exactly, is driven more strongly from the South because, basically, New Zealand and Australia were concerned that future competition for the All Blacks and the Wallabies can be highly limited.
The comments that the dispute arose during the World Cup in France were transformed into official talks in the historic forum that was held late last year in Woking. Now, more force charged by the context and show that international markets.
For Argentina may be good news to be included in that hypothetical World Club Cup, but it is clear that it will be more complicated to be able to intervene in the conditions under which it still is, because at that point should have all the players at his disposal or At least in full swing its draft professionalization.
In Australia, meanwhile, continues to move forward with the expansion of the Super Rugby (Super 14), which reportedly is planned for 2013 has 18 teams. Argentina also had some chances there, but the economic power of countries like Japan and the United States and the geographic proximity of the South Pacific can win the race to keep those places.
The Sanzar also confirmed that seek new venues for the test of their selected. The kick-off of this project will be in November, with another milestone in the rugby these days: the All Blacks-Wallabies clash at the Hong Kong dollar.

Hace un año....After a year.....

Year
To go into the climate of what happened exactly one year ago.
Still emotions? Yes, of course. On September 7, 2007, Los Pumas left nocaut to France, before a crowd in the very Stade de France in Paris and nothing less than in the opening match of the World. It uses a term boxístico because before, and after the match, the Argentine was selected by placing blows to the Monzon, of undermining a little and let up on the floor to advance pride of the powerful landlord. Okay, then, the memory of those hours in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and of which I was privileged to be able to live as a journalist.
I arrived in Paris on Tuesday 4 with the feeling that Los Pumas not iban a power with France. There were too many factors against it. However, my temperature began to change as soon as I made contact with the camp installed since then in the unforgettable Enghien les Bains. One practice, a press conference and phrases and gestures of equipment already served to start believing that the gesture was possible.
Disorderly, corresponding to cite some perceptions before: the fear that began to freeze the blood of French people once they learned that Juan Martin Hernandez was going to be the opening; unshakable unity which breathed throughout the Argentine stock; confidence that Marcelo Loffredo exhibited within its structure a few expressions, the words of Agustin Pichot, with the ideas of clarísimas where he could win France; extreme security Ignacio Corleto ( "clear that we can win"); tranquillity appalling Manuel Contepomi, a member of the quartet, along with Pichot, Mario Ledesma and Ignacio Fernandez Lobb, who was going for his third opening match. On Thursday, before writing the announcement, had already received a great hope for these Pumas. And as far as I testified in this blog.
At the time of hymns, I ended up convincing. We were all faced with a historic night. France would have to do more to account for the Pumas beat those thirsty for glory. I remember when Argentine anthem ended, we look with Paul Mamone, and both trials a gesture similar to Lucas Ostiglia.
Already in the game, another blow came from the boot, with Los Pumas tied to a nervous and France pressed. That was one of the points of the plan. Felipe Contepomi not ruled anything in the sticks until he came this move we saw a thousand times and that we will continue watching.
Maduro the nocaut, as a rapporteur said boxing. But missing some more blows. France felt that their fate was cast when the Pumas resisted his ingoal in the first minutes of the second half. As in the final against Ireland in 99. There was no one to enter the trench argentina. And so it was. But the premises, more than anything else the public, believed to have entered another hope when Sébastien Chabal, who since the posters of the press and marketing accounted for the warrior who would give them won all the battles. Tremble seriously the Stade de France when Bernard Laporte sent him to the stadium. I first fell Lucas Borges, then Felipe, a huge party, what to expect when the big bad pint of what had been launched and completed by couching fret. That ended up being the top of nocaut. France not only stood up and waited more account.
Other memories of the final minutes: The Pumas Strips head at any loose ball, pushing back the French tackles laden with fierceness, the tension in the atmosphere. The message via cell Marcela, his wife, Mamone: "We care about the heart." My plea aloud ( "I do not want to write again that The Pumas were on the verge of a feat") when Felipe failed one of two criminal end, how I am shaking my hand to write notes disordered.
And the final. He did not understand anything about what was happening in the French journalists. The happy faces and exultantes of Argentines. I remember grateful to be present at that time and there when close to the 1 on Saturday finished writing a hurry because the chronicle was the micro and had no other way out of Stade. The trip to the Bastille, then the more than forty blocks walking to the hotel - "you're just here," someone told me the heavy-loading computer in the middle of a Paris taxi orphan, subtes and enlightened by their collective and inexhaustible pockets and a moon incredible. Yes, walk this morning in Paris, after all lived, was an experience worthy of being counted.
Pichot the wise words of the feast when stopped on the grass and joined the troops: "This just beginning." The next day, tempranito had to go to Lyon. Yes, just started. Today marks a year. And do not forget as long as there is life.
