Lagrimas - Tears

Lagrimones

Y, afortunadamente, no estamos solos.

Y no golpearlo tanto. No vaya a ser que un día de estos se canse y pase a ser otra cosa.

Describes sensitive chronic Mick Cleary published in the edition of the newspaper yesterday that English Telegraph on Monday evening was mourned by Argentina in the heart of London. Agustin Pichot, captain and symbol of Los Pumas who got the memorable third place in the last World received a special distinction of journalists writings rugby in the United Kingdom. This is not a place anyone who has occupied the middle scrum. The Rugby Writter's annual awards only completed nine exemptions of this type since it created the awards in 1991. And in this space were, for example, the French Phillipe Sella, the South African Francois Pienaar and local glories as Will Carling, Jason Leonard and Sir Clive Woodward.

Pïchot was not alone in the ceremony held at the Cafe Royal. He was accompanied other Pumas: Marcelo Loffreda (another UK newspaper, The Independent, published on Monday a long and interesting profile / note on it), the brothers John and Ignacio Fernandez Lobbe (both in the leaves) and Juan Leguizamón (plays London Irish). The Argentine situation in the foreign and domestic, was the focus of a meeting in which the brilliant fullback Jason Robinson was awarded the Personality of the Year.

The note by the Telegraph not only plague of praise for Pichot (defined as "a passionate ambassador of rugby and his country"), but now comes the Argentine rugby, drawing primarily on the historic action in France. The title indicates that the Argentine rugby needs more than a well-deserved hug.

This milestone reached by Pichot adds to other recent ones. Juan Martin Hernandez was considered the best player in France's 2007 by the prestigious weekly Midi Olympique; Felipe Contepomi was chosen as the best of Ireland rugbier written by journalists in this country; Loffreda was chosen to coach the team most powerful country in the which was invented rugby. Privileges very few of the Argentine rugby.

And here? Less than three months of the third place in the World obtained by The Pumas, instead of celebrating and reap what has been achieved, the leadership is engaged in a futile fight for power. That change what led me but I am, that the change is made, but what I management; leaders who use the word celebrate for a pathetic assembly in which allegedly had plotted the future of Argentine rugby and ending before the end of the half-hour ; lawyers in the middle; leguleyas issues outside the game; unfortunate exchange of letters; mistrust; postponements for February; releases declaring winners as if this were a test match, whether it is right or wrong that Hugo Porta replace Carlos Tozzi in The International Rugby Board (IRB) and a host of disagreements that not only becoming more distant Los Pumas of an international competition, but that threaten the use of ebuliición generally resulting in the work of the national team in France. As I said, sorry, a man who has spent more than 60 years in rugby in an intimate chat: "Unfortunately, when we arrived at almost all leaders we forget what we did as players."

It is not new this scenario. If one reviews the history of Argentine rugby will be, in parallel, to the defence of values, with the exploits of Los Pumas and fights intestinas of leaders. It happens that this time is different. Perhaps unique, but many do not want to see. When more we will be faced with a possibility so close to a space in the international community and basically extend the pyramid in Argentina? Everything seems to indicate that the train can go.

True, as reflected in most of the foreign press, which in the North do not want to deal with Argentina, that the South is in amagues and that the IRB so far contributed only words because he was not otherwise be addressed theme. But if he goes in search of a goal together with grandeur, thinking about the game, and you lose, well, at least they tried. So, as we are inside, it is difficult for us to take seriously.

Unfortunately, the news that excite continue to arrive from outside. The foreign press continues to address and find explanations to the phenomenon of Argentine rugby. Here is betting instantly. And if successful, much better. Major national media and have almost no room for rugby. From here, try the opposite. And, fortunately, we are not alone. In fact, some of the information provided in this note the two readers: Toluba and Gustavo Castiglioni.

The title of the Telegraph said that the Argentine rugby you need more than a hug. That's true. But first, we have to embrace here. Mimarlo a little more. And not hitting him so much. There will be that one day they will be tired and becomes something else.

Pumas en Tri Nations - Pumas in Tri Nations

In ten years we speak
It is time that they consider that Argentina may participate in the Tri Nations, you first need to have a professional tournament in his country and participate in an American tournament.

In ten years we speak

It beggars belief everything that moved the excellent performance of the Argentine rugby in the global France 2008, with the push of mind to be the third best team in the world are speculated to enter a tournament as the three nations elite or six nations, but the reality is that despite the efforts of the IRB to force an entry into a tournament of this nature the only reality that still lacks give great strides to be able to contest such a championship.

Different ways of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa believed that the Argentina lacks much to enter the Tri Nations, and that the IRB lie that Argentina will play before 2012 in that event. For the leaders of the powers of rugby in the south this situation this far, nor deny that the inclusion of the Pumas would be an injection to a tournament that requires new members to enhance its attraction.

Now the main reason is that most players albicelestes play on the old continent, which makes the calendars are different and that makes it impossible to dispute this championship with players from their domestic leagues. For deputy chief of the Rugby Union of New Zealand, Steve Tew, believes that "there is some potential for Argentine rugby to play in this competition, but this being conducted when the conditions are given" and further clarifies "much, but something we can make during this time "

Decisions are the responsibility of the leaders of the Argentina Rugby Union, will be for them to decide the future of Argentina, in order to participate in an international tournament is the only viable way of a professional tournament allowing retain their players for ten months in the country.

The experts, who know how to transform an amateur in professional rugby, believe that this change should take approximately 10 to 12 years of implementation. Steve Tew argues that "there was and there will be input from the IRB, now will be the ability of leaders to take that money to install a domestic competition would be professional and, so far no change"

"The truth is that we know of Argentina, in addition to short-term recognize their true potential, but that most of its players play in England or France makes impossible any favorable decision for the whole South American"

And the more stark reality is that although there are many hopes members have something very clear, and in the words of one of its members contend that "we were preparing and looking into the possibility that Argentina integrate the three nations by 2020 , but the reality is that it will be more feasible to create an American league level, hence if we can maintain that Argentina will be immersed in an international contest "

Despite all the speculation, the messages are very clear, first of the leaders to decide the future of local rugby, to aspire to play an international competition must first professional, but do not share the idea of a professional team with 30 privileged, but a tournament where there are more players who have absolute dedication, that if within Argentina.

Primeros pasos - First steps

Initial steps for change
The UAR told the leaders of the provincial unions plan to reform the statute that would have a professional team
It can be interpreted as the first progress towards the metamorphosis of domestic rugby. The President Alejandro Risler, the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) yesterday told the leaders of the 25 unions provincial strategic plan for reforming the status of the body, a necessary step to form a professional team.

The extraordinary assembly which will vote whether Argentina will turn rented rugby will develop 28 next month. However, the decision could be known almost 20 days before that date, when the leaders meet in Parana during the Seven of the Republic (8, 9 and 10 December), the last day before the conclave crucial year-end .

While provincial unions had not yet taken a position on the matter, some views indicate the way. "We have a unique and excellent opportunity for change. What happened with the Pumas in the World is a clear indication of the direction we should take," he said in July Paz, president of the Union of Tucuman. In the same line of thought tucumano other authorities of the interior.

If you thought that Buenos Aires would go against the tide, not the case. Although Nestor Galan, president of the URBA, made some reservations about the changes. "If the spirit of the current status we will assist and accompany the change. All agree that the Pumas are integrated into a professional competence, and more if this series of reforms is a requirement of the IRB. But what I do not understand is the urgency of the UAR and much less if not reveal the texts of articles they want reform, "he told La Nacion to Galan.

The UAR wishes mainly to change its charter to be able to compete in a professional tournament as the Tri Nations and you can be able to sign a contract with the players. In addition, he wants to draw the shape directors (something like a manager) that this in charge of negotiations with the IRB and embark exclusively to the orbit of possible equipment rented.

At yesterday's meeting, held in the Hotel Pan American, was Morgan Buckley, consultant to the IRB. The Irish rastrilló for one year the country to learn about the possibilities of motorizar change (would be a process of ten years). Last night, evacuated doubts and defended the spirit of amateur clubs. We sense that the reforms are focalizarían more than anything else in the Pumas and its orbit.

* The controversy is the renewal of authorities
According to the current status of the UAR, renewal authorities should be given within 90 days after the close of the financial year (ending September 30). Thus, next month Risler and five other members of the dome of the agency should abandon their posts. If this does not happen, URBA could change its position and did not accompany the reforms in the statute that promotes the current leadership.

Many support from rugbyfans all over the world.
