Caminos - Ways

Caminos

WAYS
By Luis Lucho Gradín (*)

I think the Argentine Rugby must define its own path, which is none other than you are marking their clubs, their players not rented, rented his players and their Pumas. The Pumas are the top of the great pyramid that should shine and synthesize what everyone else do.

For that to happen, leaders, game developers, coachs, referees, volunteers, journalists and players must be part of this team that is RUGBY Argentina.

Participating in the Southern Hemisphere is not advisable. The logistical and economic effort is enormous and little sustainable over time. Shaping elites for regional tournaments goes against our culture of clubs and I think it would be a failure sporting and economic.

We should turn our energies on developing local tournaments high club competition at regional and national levels, with much support coaching, refereed and marketing, looking for the highest excellence, so that these players are as close as possible to the High rented Competition , With strong support from the IRB. To this end we have a very effective organization of the highest quality.

Participating in international tournaments second order, as Churchil Cup, and windows available from the IRB. Trying to play windows as local in Europe, in Spain, to show that business and we aspire to join the Northern Hemisphere.

Today, without regular competition, our Pumas are among the best teams in the World 5. To keep us, we must build on our strengths, which are not others that the values we pass our players, learned in their clubs.

It is not romanticism. This is what we as a fortress, we must strengthen it with altissima organization and passion.

(*) Lucho Gradín was player and coach of the Pumas. As president of the UAR generated important decisions, such as allowing play at the professional players selected at a time when that was not permitted by the statutes; hire a foreign coach (Alex Wyllie) and move to the Monument to the test Powers of the South.

Sudáfrica no renuncia a su apoyo - Southafrica does not renounce its support

Como llegar al Tres Naciones - How to get to Tri Nations

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Both Argentina and both sought recognition harvested in the international arena that, at last, The Pumas were invited to play for the Three Nations since 2012. But, said than done ... Logically, Sanz (New Zealand, Australia and South Africa) calls for the selection, much more taquillera bronze from the World Cup, is presented with the best, with Hernandez, Corleto, Albacete, Contepomi, who plays a large base in Europe. But how to make them leave their clubs? Is saying "come to play for the country"? And the silver they charge? Professional rugby in Argentina, impossible. So?

Then there is an idea. Let those Pumas, as a team, participating in international tournaments and then play in Three Nations, which in reality would be a Five Nations (the three usual, Los Pumas and a selected Pacific out of a classification). Of course we must get the money for players (in Europe receive 150,000 euros per season average) accept. That is another issue-not less-to resolve. The group that operates in the country will play minor powers as the Churchill Cup.

The UAR has two plans. The "1" is mandar the team to Super Rugby (now Super 14), a contest that is played between the three selected provincial powers, seeking to expand and make it more attractive, as well as the Three Nations. The problem is where eventually settled in Los Pumas. New Zealand and Australia do not want the dates include matches in Argentina. One possibility is that players based in South Africa and make the tournament are divided into zones: one for Australia and New Zealand and the other in the land of Mandela. Ricardo Garcia Fernandez, leader of the UAR traveling in the first week of July to New Zealand, said it is "the most logical and viable".

Of course we would not have so much support from players who wish to stay in Europe. So the plan is "2" means that the team will join the Celtic League (played Welsh, Irish and Scottish), which, according Richichi, "is politically more complicated." Why they prefer the players? This would be based in Europe (Spain Do?), In which they reside. The logistical issues (where train, when together) are also issues to resolve.

Originally, Los Pumas wanted to go to Six Nations, which could continue playing for their clubs in Europe, as the local activity is interrupted. They would base on, for example, Spain for a couple of months and ready. But since the tournament refused. Thus, it was the Three Nations, but with difficulties in economic, logistical and organizational resolve ... Of course, something is something, although it will not be easy to find ways to reach this target.

Pumas? donde? where?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where? March 25, 2008 It is more than clear, at this stage, that if The Pumas have any chance to play in future international competition will be held in the southern hemisphere and not in the North. They placed the International Rugby Board (IRB), while that from Europe announced, without euphemisms, that there there is no chance to select which owns all its rugbiers acting in that part of the world. Now what? It was assumed that the road was going to be complicated, but the details sometimes put it near the impossible. Since the three major South, the only bid for the Pumas is South Africa, which is why the invitation arrived to play a test in the first week of August, at Ellis Park in Johannesburg, in commemoration of 90 years of Nelson Mandela . Today arrive clearance from France to liberate the Argentines operating there, and the Argentine Rugby Union (UAR) is formalized tomorrow following the meeting of Council. But do not provide the same signals Australia and New Zealand, but since the idea first emerged of a build for a 2009 Pac-Rim, an octagonal including the Argentinians. But also from Australia, when announcing other alternatives on future powers, it does not mention Argentina, but from Japan. This was proposed by the CEO of the Union of this country, John O'Neill, for the next editions of the Super 14. He wants more teams, incorporating one of Japan and extend the tournament to 26 dates, plus the finals. Kangarooland, regular participant of this blog, made chronicler from Australia and we sent the transcript of the statements O'Neill made during the press conference announcing that the online area Qantas will continue as sponsor of the Wallabies until 2011 . O'Neill, who, as he says, the players fear for their aggressiveness when it comes to talking about numbers, was clarito: "This market is different. After 12 or 13 years of professionalism, we are looking at the economic rugby… If we rugby league and Australian rules football to the face looking at us, we can offer them a championship 26 times and large end, we also generate much higher revenue ". According to O'Neill, television and gave the OK. Contracts for the Sanzar with the TV networks expire next year-was signed in 2004 - and he left the three major Southern approximately $ 330 million. Australians want to recover from the losses they caused billions creation of a National League and that the aborted immediately. At that point, will win only with the realization of a test this year with the All Blacks for the Bledisloe Cup in Hong Kong and another before the Barbarians at Wembley. Data used to know what is spoken when you think of a future competition for the Pumas.

Pumas invitados a Tri Nations - Pumas invited to Tri Nations

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Pumas to the invitation to play against teams from the Tri Nations arrived and was, perhaps, one of the most highly anticipated, but there really seems to make a little more than unlikely. The selected Argentine rugby received by Sanzar (body which brings to unions of South Africa, New Zealand and Australia) offering formal parties to the dispute powers in the Southern Hemisphere this year. The Pumas play against the team that is free in each of the dates. However it is not so easy. IRB instigates Sanzar to unite Los Pumas to their most important tournament. Sanzar meets and makes its imposing conditions (which, it said, are not descabelladas). The main request is that Argentina submit its best team, with players who are already recognised by all the world. And it is here that the chances that Argentina take part in this event are almost non-existent because it could not meet a basic requirement: to submit their best players. This would put the majority of elite players are contesting the championships in various European clubs that do not cederían. So what is the solution? With this, one could align the timing of the tournament competition was created in our country in the competitions of other countries in the southern hemisphere and the Pumas could join the Tri Nations. The formal response by the UAR should reach the hands of the leaders of Sanzar before March 5.

Pumas en Tri Nations - Pumas in Tri Nations

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

In ten years we speak
It is time that they consider that Argentina may participate in the Tri Nations, you first need to have a professional tournament in his country and participate in an American tournament.

In ten years we speak

It beggars belief everything that moved the excellent performance of the Argentine rugby in the global France 2008, with the push of mind to be the third best team in the world are speculated to enter a tournament as the three nations elite or six nations, but the reality is that despite the efforts of the IRB to force an entry into a tournament of this nature the only reality that still lacks give great strides to be able to contest such a championship.

Different ways of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa believed that the Argentina lacks much to enter the Tri Nations, and that the IRB lie that Argentina will play before 2012 in that event. For the leaders of the powers of rugby in the south this situation this far, nor deny that the inclusion of the Pumas would be an injection to a tournament that requires new members to enhance its attraction.

Now the main reason is that most players albicelestes play on the old continent, which makes the calendars are different and that makes it impossible to dispute this championship with players from their domestic leagues. For deputy chief of the Rugby Union of New Zealand, Steve Tew, believes that "there is some potential for Argentine rugby to play in this competition, but this being conducted when the conditions are given" and further clarifies "much, but something we can make during this time "

Decisions are the responsibility of the leaders of the Argentina Rugby Union, will be for them to decide the future of Argentina, in order to participate in an international tournament is the only viable way of a professional tournament allowing retain their players for ten months in the country.

The experts, who know how to transform an amateur in professional rugby, believe that this change should take approximately 10 to 12 years of implementation. Steve Tew argues that "there was and there will be input from the IRB, now will be the ability of leaders to take that money to install a domestic competition would be professional and, so far no change"

"The truth is that we know of Argentina, in addition to short-term recognize their true potential, but that most of its players play in England or France makes impossible any favorable decision for the whole South American"

And the more stark reality is that although there are many hopes members have something very clear, and in the words of one of its members contend that "we were preparing and looking into the possibility that Argentina integrate the three nations by 2020 , but the reality is that it will be more feasible to create an American league level, hence if we can maintain that Argentina will be immersed in an international contest "

Despite all the speculation, the messages are very clear, first of the leaders to decide the future of local rugby, to aspire to play an international competition must first professional, but do not share the idea of a professional team with 30 privileged, but a tournament where there are more players who have absolute dedication, that if within Argentina.

No a Pumas vs. Australia en Junio de 2008 - No to Pumas vs. Wallabies on June of 2008

The hope for Argentina to use an international meeting with the 'Wallabies' in June as a central part of the campaign to turn in professional rugby in this country has been rejected by the Australian Rugby Union (ARU), given the failure to include the 'test' in the agenda of 2008, as revealed by the newspaper "The Australian".

The 'test', proposed for racing in this country and in Buenos Aires, was seen as a key to the plan to keep the success of the 'Pumas' in the last World Cup.

The chief executive of the ARU, Matt Carroll, explained that include the match with Argentina on the agenda for next year is impossible because the 'Wallabies' played a series of meetings with France during June.

"Simply, there is no time to accommodate the 'test' with the Pumas," said Carroll.

The ARU suggested contest the match with Argentina in July next year, the weekend off to Australia during the dispute Three Nations tournament in the Southern Hemisphere, but most of the German team is campaigning Argentine and European clubs that month marked rest.

This includes the latest blueprint for the playing calendar of the Game.

Dr Syd Millar, IRB Chairman said, “The measures were formulated after 30 hours of robust and constructive debate over three days among the 90 delegates from all the major Rugby stakeholders from all over the world. When you examine the outcomes it is clear that the Forum concluded, after much debate and study, that the existing calendar is still the best vehicle for the Game and that with some modifications it will allow plenty of scope for the continued growth of Rugby.”

“With the agreements we made the Forum delegates have strengthened the basic structure of the calendar in the short-term while at the same time laying solid foundations for future change and growth. The stress areas in the calendar have now been fixed, and in particular the June Test window. We would expect to see further changes to the playing schedule start in 2012 at the latest.” "

“The issue of the playing calendar is very complex and includes the varying requirements of clubs, provinces and national Unions, the fact that we have separate playing seasons in the two hemispheres, player welfare requirements and large distances between some of the senior playing countries. Finding tenable solutions that allow for growth while not potentially damaging or cannibalising the Game’s existing financial structures has been a challenge.” "

“As we hoped, the Forum has forged stronger ties and relationships between the various stakeholders, including the clubs and their respective national Unions. This will augur well for the future as we must ensure that we continue to work together in order to continue Rugby’s growth and to ensure that it remains relevant and vibrant at all levels of the Game,” added Dr Millar.

The Forum agreed: El Foro acordó:

The Pumas are closer to the Tri Nations

It seems that finally came when selected for the recognition of Argentine rugby, Los Pumas, in the past World Cup in France gave credit to his class after staying with the bronze medal. At least that indicate versions. The set Albiceleste would be invited to play from 2008 the famous Three Nations tournament, the contest selected from South Africa, New Zealand and Australia, but only on condition "member not fixed" and that face each time the team is free .

Argentina face then next year to the powerful teams of South Africa (world champion), New Zealand and Australia, in principle with parties outside tournament, as opposed to all that is free at each date.

To meet these commitments, Los Pumas oficiarían premises in a seat to nominate probably Cape Town.

That would be the prelude to the final incorporation of Argentina who later became a Four Nations.

New Zealand and South Africa (current world champion) will open the tournament on July 5, 2008, and probably at an early date Argentina cross with Australia.

To get ideas about what it means to this story, just numbers. Over the past ten years with South Africa and Australia was played six times, and New Zealand just five. Furthermore, the Pumas until last year only disputed commitments in the two windows.

Another of the negotiations being developed by the ABU is the alternative to locally as a test match there.

In addition, it continues to treat the chance to change the international calendar.
