Profesionales - Pro´s

Profesionales

Professionals
Agustin Pichot, representing the players, will integrate the Subcommittee of Professional Rugby just adopted by the UAR and to be chaired by Ricardo Garcia Fernandez, also counselor and owner of the Subcommittee on Select
.

The Subcommittee also the newly integrated Alejandro Cubelli (Urba), Ricardo Paganini (Rosario and president of the South American Confederation) and Paul GABELLIERI (Cordova).

As the statutes of the UAR are not yet approved by the Buenos Aires-Internal conflict, this appendix professional UAR shall not constitute the commission. According to the newspaper Olé, Hugo Porta also going to integrate, something which ultimately did not happen. The former captain and opening of Los Pumas is currently the Argentine representative to the IRB, an entity with which this subcommittee should be in permanent contact.

The Subcommittee will handle professional rugby and will be carrying forward the plan to try to insert a Los Pumas in a regular international competition. Will report to the executive bureau of the Council of the UAR.

Garcia Fernandez has been the most active man of the new leadership of the UAR. At this time served as CEO at meetings in the IRB and also served as manager in Los Pumas last trip to South Africa. Now a new post that amount, strictly speaking, is to complement the role that executed since he assumed this leadership.

The novelty-as well as professional rugby was headed by someone who comes from a club like Cuba, which is the most rigid defender of amateurism-Pichot is the incorporation of this subcommittee.

Undoubtedly, the former captain who is better known as the board moves rugby competition on the high and her figure is highly respected and heard in places where decisions are important. Its incorporation can be taken as a good sign and shows the commitment of Pichot with Argentine rugby beyond what he did inside the stadium, but surely also come voices to the contrary.

The appointment of a CEO, William Accame, and the creation of this subcommittee were part of the agenda that the UAR had a few days ago with Mark Egan, director of services IRB who was last week in Argentina.

Egan take this picture of Argentine rugby at the meeting that the IRB will next Thursday.

Another fact is that this subcommittee Paganini and Pichot were together in the World 1995. One as coach and another as a player.
It also found that the South American will be played in Concepcion, Chile, between 8 and November 16, and that Los Pumas face Chile on 8 this month for the second day of South American, which already had a triumph before Argentine Uruguay by 43 -8

In the cold autumn afternoon of October 21, strolling through Paris and even with the warm soul of emotion by conquering the bronze in the World Cup, Agustin Pichot did not hide his feelings, intimately related to a decision it took almost nine months ratify. "My heart and my soul tell me that this is the end", confessed that day on No. 9. The collapse of the World Cup curtain decreed the closure of a lengthy cycle, and the leader of that extraordinary campaign acknowledged that never again wear the national shirt, but left open the possibility of a farewell function. That "last match" would be test-match of next August 9 with the Springboks. However, the captain decided not to participate in that commitment, attitude heading his retirement. "I told you just ended the World Cup, I knew it was the latter. Part of what I knew, but the other did not until they assumed I started training. On Monday I went running and I realized that it was not; I was missing something, "admitted Augustine, after appearing before television cameras to formalize his resignation (he did the announcement yesterday at noon, in the ESPN SportsCenter newscast +). "Unfortunately I will not be with South Africa. After what little they played in Racing (N. of A. was 17 of the 31 acts of the contest), after talking with my wife (Florence) and thinking what is what they really want, I decided that I will not play. It was a difficult decision. I do not either physically or psychologically to cope with this party ", specifies. As a monologue, in-depth explanations: "It is true that South Africa had chosen to play with, and why Tati (Santiago Phelan, the Argentine coach) called me, but I needed to think. I was with the momentum and enthusiasm and believed the World that could, but I realized that it was not. I am not 100%, then not respect my way of dealing with things. I think it is a disrespect for the shirt that gave me so much. Play was forcing a step further. The Pumas are my team and I feel that always will be, but I'm not to continue playing, "added the former scrum-half of Metro Racing-92, in which Parisian club played its last meeting on June 21, in the end for promotion to the Top 14, who lost to Mont-de-Marsan (32-23). This step-side does not pay the illusion of a formal farewell function. "I would love to play one last game with my people, and if in the CASI, the better. There is a possibility in June 2009, but I do not know if the schedule can do something. It's more a fantasy of mine," he said. That will not happen sweat shirt blue and white does not mean that the link was selected to finish; even knowing his friendship with Phelan, is unlikely to happen. "I am for what they need, to help train the mid-scrums, to analyze videos, to attend meetings to see if we accept in the Tri Nations ... whatever. I am no longer to play, but I am available, "said File, that 22 will meet next month 34 years and still do not know if equal travel to Johannesburg to be part of the transmission of the match with world champions. "I was invited, but have not decided," he clarified. After four years -2003 to 2007 -, Pichot left Stade Français, which won the French league in 2004 and 2007, and joined Metro Racing-92, the second division. The contract was for one season with a second option, but the link was not renewed, and the sporting future of former CASI is open. Stade Français what tentó to return: "I repeat: I am not to play today. To accept, it must give a lot of things. I am not to face a season that requirement, perhaps, might be to play some matches European Champions League, nothing more. But it is very difficult, "he said. On the importance of having men of experience to be measured with South Africans, Pichot said: "I think the team needs other players. This is a new cycle and selected have to find, as happened in his time with me or with many others The people who will form the new team. You can not be all the time thinking of the Pumas, 2007. Already, that already happened. The World generated a lot of expectation, and people might not understand that everything has a cycle. It is a mistake to be lamentable for those who are not, we sued a long time to reach the level we had in the World, and we must be patient during this transition, "he said. That feeling was confirmed. The Pumas already miss his great driver. * 72-test matches played in the No. 9 selection; debuted on April 30, 1995 compared to Australia (he try), and on October 19, 2007, before France for the World Cup 3rd place, played for the last time
